Iranian General’s Explosive Claim: Over 1000 Israeli Soldiers Killed in Conflict, Thousands Wounded

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesman for Iran’s Armed Forces, claimed that more than 1,000 Israeli soldiers were killed and thousands more wounded during Israeli military operations against Iran.
The remarks were reported and amplified by Iranian state-aligned media outlets, including Tasnim News Agency and DEFA Press.
Iran claims Israeli military losses were concealed
Speaking about what Tehran describes as a “US-Israeli war of aggression”, Shekarchi alleged that Israel had suffered significant military losses that had not been publicly disclosed.
He also claimed that the United States had suffered hundreds of military casualties, with thousands of American personnel allegedly wounded during the conflict.
However, the casualty figures cited by the Iranian military spokesman were presented as claims from Tehran, and the article does not independently verify them.
Shekarchi accused Israel and the United States of concealing their military losses.
“The Americans and the Zionist regime lie about their casualty figures and censor the truth,” he claimed, while comparing the alleged reporting practices to previous US military engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Iranian general attacks US military image
Shekarchi also used the interview to criticise the United States military and its global reputation.
He described the US military as a “Hollywood-style” force driven by propaganda and accused Washington of using military power to exploit Muslim-majority countries.
According to the Iranian general, Tehran’s main achievement during the conflict was what he described as exposing the perceived weakness of the US and Israeli militaries.
He claimed that the conflict had challenged the image of military dominance associated with Washington and Israel.
Iran says US allies are losing confidence
Shekarchi also claimed that the conflict could have wider geopolitical consequences for countries hosting US military bases.
He argued that some American allies may be reassessing their reliance on Washington for security.
“If the United States cannot defend itself, how can it defend its allies?” he said.
The remarks come amid competing narratives from Iran, Israel and the United States over the military impact of the conflict. The casualty figures cited by Shekarchi remain claims by the Iranian side and should not be treated as independently verified figures.
