Two Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl in Bandipora

Bandipora: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, police said on Monday.

During the investigation, police identified two suspects. Officials said the two men were not previously known to the minor.

A senior police officer said the suspects were apprehended during overnight raids conducted at different locations as part of the investigation.

Case Registered, Investigation Underway

Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of law, including sections dealing with offences against children.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident and are working to establish all the facts of the case.

Police said further action will be taken in accordance with the findings of the ongoing investigation.

As the investigation is still underway, the allegations against the arrested persons have not yet been established in court.
