KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown in Several Kashmir Areas from August 1
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of the Kashmir Valley over the coming days to facilitate maintenance work on various 33 KV transmission lines.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, electricity supply will remain affected in different areas on 1 August and 4 August 2026.
Power Shutdown on 4 August
A shutdown of the 33 KV Bemina–JVC/PC Depot line will be carried out from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on 4 August 2026.
Areas to be affected:
- Boatman Colony
- Bemina JVC Hospital
- Children Hospital
- State Motor Garage
- Hajj House
- Forensic Science Laboratory
- PC Depot
- Qamarwari
- Barthana
- Adjoining areas
Power Shutdown on 1 August
Maintenance work on the 33 KV Kangan–Kangan line and 33 KV Badampora–Wangipora Tapline will also take place from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on 1 August 2026.

- Akhal
- Baba Nagri
- Canal
- Batwina
- Wangipora
- Nowgam
- Waskura
- Kharbagh
- Sumbal
- Nesbal
- Adjoining areas
Hajin and Nearby Areas to Face Two-Day Shutdown
A shutdown of the 33 KV Badampora–Army Hakbara line has also been scheduled from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on 1 August and 4 August 2026.

- Banyari
- Hakbara
- Chandergeer
- Adjoining areas
KPDCL Advises Consumers
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan their activities accordingly, as electricity supply will remain suspended during the scheduled maintenance period.
The corporation said the shutdowns are necessary to carry out essential maintenance work aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network.
