Traffic movement at Badyari Chowk and Brein Chowk towards the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and Nehru Park will also remain restricted. However, hotel guests and local residents will be allowed to pass.
According to the traffic advisory, vehicles travelling towards Nishat will be diverted through Gupkar and Hazratbal. Traffic approaching from the Nishat-Harwan side will also be rerouted via Hazratbal.
As part of a separate diversion plan, Nishat-bound vehicles may also be channelled through Rainawari, Badyari, Hazratbal and Nishat to help manage congestion during the event.
The restrictions came into effect at 4 PM and will continue for three hours, until the inauguration ceremony concludes.
Authorities have said that emergency vehicles will be allowed to use the shortest available route despite the restrictions.
The public has been advised to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and contact the Traffic Police Control Room on 103 for assistance.
The advisory was issued by Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, who also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
