Traffic Restored on Pahalgam–Anantnag Road After Mudslides Cleared Following Cloudburst

According to officials, the road was rendered impassable on Monday evening after a cloudburst near Langnal Bridge triggered mudslides and brought large quantities of debris onto the roadway, disrupting vehicular movement.

Road Cleared After Restoration Work

Officials said teams equipped with heavy machinery were immediately deployed to clear mud, rocks and other debris from the affected stretch.

After several hours of restoration work, the road was successfully reopened and traffic resumed on Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic Movement Resumes

With the debris removed, vehicles were allowed to pass through the route, restoring connectivity between Pahalgam and Anantnag.

Authorities have advised motorists to remain cautious while travelling through the area, as weather conditions may continue to pose a risk of landslides and falling stones in vulnerable stretches.

Officials said they are closely monitoring the situation and will take further action if required.
