DSP, Two PSOs Injured After Bulletproof Vehicle Tyre Bursts in Awantipora
Awantipora: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and two Police Officers (PSOs) sustained minor injuries after a tyre of their bulletproof vehicle burst while they were travelling near Ziyarat Sharief Syed Hassan Mantaqi (RA) in Awantipora on Monday, officials said.
According to police, the incident took place when the tyre suddenly burst while the bulletproof vehicle was moving.
Officials said the heavy weight of the bulletproof vehicle may have contributed to the tyre failure.
A senior police officer confirmed the incident to Greater Kashmir, saying the tyre burst caused injuries to the DSP and the two PSOs travelling in the vehicle.
Injuries Minor, Police Say
Police officials said all three personnel suffered minor injuries and that none of them is in danger.
The injured officers were provided medical attention following the incident, officials said.
No further details about the identity of the injured police personnel or the extent of damage to the vehicle were immediately available.
The incident occurred near the shrine of Syed Hassan Mantaqi (RA) in Awantipora as the police team was travelling through the area.
