Two Men Injured in Bear Attack While Working in Fields in Pulwama’s Tral

According to officials, the incident occurred when the two men were working in their fields and a bear suddenly emerged from a nearby forested area before attacking them.
Victims Shifted to SKIMS Soura
Officials said both injured men were initially taken to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Tral, where they received first aid.
Considering the nature of their injuries, doctors later referred them to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment.
The injured have been identified as:
- Abdul Majeed Bobra (60), son of Mohammad Ismail, a resident of Chattergam, Tral.
- Mohammad Ramzan Beigh (58), son of Mohammad Asadullah Beigh, a resident of Tral.
Their condition has not been officially disclosed.
Locals Seek Wildlife Department’s Action
Following the attack, local residents expressed concern over increasing encounters between people and wild animals in the area.
They urged the Wildlife Department to take preventive measures, including increased monitoring and awareness campaigns, to reduce the risk of similar incidents in villages located near forest areas.
The incident adds to a series of recent human-wildlife conflict cases reported from different parts of Kashmir.
