TikTok Star Shamsoo Bibi Shot Dead

Pakistani TikTok Star Shamsoo Bibi Shot Dead in Taxila; Sister Injured

The 28-year-old social media creator had built a following of around 1.3 million people on TikTok, according to her father. Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation into the shooting, which took place on 14 August 2026.

TikToker shot while travelling with siblings

According to the police complaint filed by Shamsoo Bibi’s father, Fazal Sahibzada, the incident followed a phone call from a man identified as Kashif, also known as Kashi.

The caller allegedly asked Bibi to come outside her home. She subsequently left with her 15-year-old sister Aseema and her brother Naimatullah in their car.

While they were travelling near a petrol station in the Taxila area, two unidentified men riding a motorcycle allegedly opened fire on the vehicle.

One of the bullets struck Bibi in the neck. She died at the scene, according to the complaint. The firing reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then collided with another car. Her teenage sister Aseema was seriously injured in the crash.

Family alleges financial dispute

Bibi’s father has alleged that his daughter had been involved in a financial dispute with two people identified as Kausar and Javed, also known as Shaheen.

According to his complaint, Bibi had demanded repayment of money from the two individuals and had allegedly received threats in connection with the dispute. He also said that she had previously submitted a complaint against them in Islamabad.

The father expressed suspicion that the two men could have been behind the attack or could have arranged it through others.

However, these are allegations contained in the family’s police complaint and have not been independently established. Police are investigating the claims and have yet to establish a confirmed motive for the killing.

Built a large TikTok following

Shamsoo Bibi had reportedly been creating TikTok content for around three to four years.

Her father told police that she had accumulated approximately 1.3 million followers on the platform.

Another report said her account had received more than 30 million likes before the family deactivated it following her death. The official account could not be independently verified by the report.

Her popularity on social media had made her a recognised Pakistani TikTok personality, with her content attracting a substantial online audience.

Police register murder and attempted murder case

Following the shooting, police registered a case under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including Section 302 for murder and Section 324 relating to attempted murder.

The case also includes provisions concerning abetment and acts carried out by multiple people with a common intention, according to reports.

Investigators are now working to identify the motorcycle-borne attackers, establish who organised the shooting and determine whether the alleged financial dispute was connected to the killing.

Sister injured in the attack

Bibi’s 15-year-old sister was seriously injured after the shooting caused the car to crash.

The incident has therefore been treated by investigators as involving both murder and attempted murder, with the police case reflecting the injuries suffered by the surviving passenger.

The victim’s brother, who was also travelling in the vehicle, reportedly witnessed the attack and told the family that the assailants were two men on a motorcycle. The family has said he may be able to identify the attackers if they are brought before him.

Investigation continues

Police have yet to publicly establish a definitive motive or announce a confirmed arrest in connection with the killing.

Investigators are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the phone call that preceded the shooting, the alleged financial dispute and the identities of the two gunmen.

For now, the claims made by Shamsoo Bibi’s family remain allegations, while the investigation continues.

The killing has drawn attention because of Bibi’s substantial social-media following and has once again raised concerns about the security of prominent online content creators in Pakistan.
