Iltija Mufti Slams J&K Government Over Alleged Threats to Medical Interns

By : Sagar Reshi

“Principals of medical colleges across J&K are now threatening medical interns with termination if they don’t call off their peaceful strikes,” Mufti said.

She questioned the government’s approach to the protesting interns, saying their genuine concerns should be addressed rather than using threats to force them to end their agitation.

“Shameful how instead of addressing their genuine grievances the government is now blackmailing them,” she said.

Mufti expressed solidarity with the protesting interns and said they had the right to seek better working conditions and a dignified livelihood.

“We stand with each and every medical intern and their right to a dignified livelihood,” she added.

The medical interns have been on strike over their demand for an enhancement in stipend, with the issue drawing increasing political attention in Jammu and Kashmir.
