Srinagar Police Attach ₹2.74 Crore Property of Alleged Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act
Srinagar: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Saturday attached an immovable property worth around ₹2.74 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to police officials, the attached property includes a double-storeyed residential house along with 12 marlas of land situated beneath and adjoining the house. The property belongs to Mubashir Ahmad Hakeem, son of Abdul Hamid Hakeem, a resident of Awanta Bhawan, Soura, Srinagar.
The attachment was carried out in connection with FIR No. 142/2025, registered at Police Station Safakadal under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act. Officials said the property’s market value has been estimated at approximately ₹2.74 crore.
Action Targets Drug Trafficking Networks
Police said the move is part of a wider effort to dismantle the financial networks supporting illegal drug trade by targeting assets believed to have been acquired through proceeds of narcotics-related activities.
Officials added that such action is intended to discourage those involved in drug trafficking and strengthen the enforcement of the law across the region.
Public Urged to Support Anti-Drug Campaign
Reaffirming its commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free, Srinagar Police said it will continue taking strict legal action against drug peddlers and others involved in the narcotics trade.
The police also appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking with the nearest police station or through official police helpline numbers.
Officials assured citizens that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential, encouraging greater public participation in the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
