Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Sets Three Conditions for Talks as Centre Pushes for Dialogue on Student Protest

The development comes after the Centre repeatedly invited CJP representatives for discussions. Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have expressed the government’s willingness to resolve the issue through dialogue, but protest leaders insist that meaningful talks can only take place if their core demands are addressed.

Three Conditions Placed by CJP

According to CJP leaders, the movement has placed the following three conditions before the government:

• Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him accountable for the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities.
• ₹1 crore compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the examination controversy.
• Withdrawal of all FIRs against peaceful protesters, along with a sovereign guarantee that no fresh criminal cases or punitive action will be taken against those participating in the movement.

Protesters Open to Dialogue

CJP leaders said they remain open to discussions but have insisted that the meeting should be held at Jantar Mantar or another neutral venue, rather than at the residence or office of a Union minister. They said the talks should take place in a transparent and neutral environment that reflects the spirit of the movement.

Government Continues Outreach

The Centre has maintained that it is committed to finding a peaceful solution. Union Minister Jitendra Singh recently said the government had sent multiple formal proposals for talks and was ready to meet the protesters at any convenient time. The outreach comes as the government faces growing pressure over the examination controversy and nationwide student demonstrations.

Despite the government’s appeal, CJP leaders have made it clear that the protest will continue until their key demands are addressed, particularly the resignation of the Education Minister.
