The girls, aged 10 and five, were found dead inside a hotel room on Monday evening. Their 40-year-old father, identified as SG Imran, was found seriously injured in an adjoining toilet.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that Imran allegedly killed his daughters before attempting to take his own life.

According to police sources, Imran allegedly told investigators that he did not want his children to grow up with what he described as an unsuitable mother.

“I didn’t want my kids to grow up with this kind of mother, so I decided to kill them and myself,” police sources quoted him as saying.

The statement is being examined as part of the investigation, and police have not yet established whether the reason cited by Imran was the actual motive for the killings.

Two Girls Found Dead Inside Hotel Room

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun Kumar, Imran and his two daughters had checked into the hotel on Sunday evening.

The following day, at around 4 pm, hotel cleaning staff went to the room and knocked on the door. When there was no response, they entered the room and found the two girls dead on the bed.

Imran was found seriously injured in an adjoining toilet.

Hotel security staff rushed him to Manipal Hospital, where he is receiving treatment. Police said his condition was critical.

The incident came to light after hotel employees alerted the police.

Police Say Father Admitted Killing Daughters

DCP Mithun Kumar said Imran had admitted to killing his daughters.

“He has stated that he killed them himself,” the officer said.

Police are treating the case as a murder investigation and are examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

A bloodied knife was also recovered from the scene, according to the police.

Investigators are now examining the evidence collected from the hotel room and speaking to people connected to the family to establish the exact sequence of events.

Suspected Marital Dispute Being Investigated

Police sources said Imran allegedly suspected his wife of having a relationship with another man.

According to the sources, a note allegedly written by Imran claimed that he had evidence of his wife’s relationship.

The note reportedly linked his alleged decision to kill his daughters and attempt suicide to his concerns about how they would grow up.

However, police have cautioned that the contents of the note and the claims made by Imran do not by themselves establish the motive.

Investigators are expected to speak to family members and examine other evidence before determining what led to the incident.

DCP Mithun Kumar said police were still trying to establish Imran’s profession, family circumstances and the events that preceded the deaths.

“What his profession is, whether the reason he mentioned is the actual motive, and how exactly things unfolded will only be known after we contact his family members,” the officer said.

Family Reportedly From Nagawara

Police said Imran is a resident of Nagawara in Bengaluru.

Investigators are contacting relatives and gathering information about the family as part of the probe.

The circumstances surrounding why Imran took his daughters to the hotel, what happened inside the room and when the girls died are among the issues being examined by investigators.

Murder Case Registered

Police said a murder case is being registered in connection with the deaths of the two children.

Since Imran is currently undergoing treatment, investigators will continue their inquiry while also examining the physical and digital evidence available from the hotel.

Police are expected to record statements from hotel employees, security personnel, family members and others who may have information about the family’s movements and circumstances before the incident.

Investigation Continues

The deaths have shocked Bengaluru, particularly because the victims were two young children.

At present, police are treating Imran’s alleged admission and the contents of the reported note as important parts of the investigation, but the full motive has yet to be established.
