Ali Mohammad Sagar Urges Comprehensive Arrangements for Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Naqshband Sahib (R.A.)
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar (Advocate) has appealed to the Srinagar district administration to make comprehensive arrangements for devotees attending the annual Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Naqshband Sahib (R.A.) at Khwaja Bazar in Srinagar. In a statement, Sagar urged the administration to ensure that all essential services are available throughout the Urs celebrations to facilitate devotees visiting the revered shrine.
Calls for Essential Facilities
Ali Mohammad Sagar requested the authorities to provide:
- ⚡ Uninterrupted electricity supply
- 💧 Safe drinking water
- 🚻 Proper sanitation facilities
- 🏥 Healthcare and medical services
- 🚌 Adequate transport arrangements
He said these facilities would help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for the large number of devotees expected to attend the annual religious gathering.
Special Arrangements for Khoja Digar
Sagar particularly emphasised the need for additional arrangements on Khoja Digar, when thousands of devotees from different parts of the Kashmir Valley gather at the shrine to offer the Asr prayer.
He said effective crowd management and adequate public services would be essential to accommodate the large influx of worshippers.
Historic Shrine Holds Deep Spiritual Significance
The National Conference leader noted that the shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Naqshband Sahib (R.A.) has remained one of Kashmir’s most revered religious sites for centuries and continues to attract devotees from across the region.
He urged the administration to ensure that all arrangements are completed well in advance so that pilgrims can perform their religious observances without inconvenience.
Urs Observances Underway
The annual Urs commenced on the 21st of Safar.
During the observance, daily religious programmes are organised at the shrine, including:
- 📖 Khatm-ul-Muazzamat
- 🤲 Recitation of Durood Sharif
- 🕌 Azkar and devotional gatherings
These programmes are held each day from Asr until Maghrib prayers.
