24-Year-Old Youth Found Hanging in Forest Area of Lolab, Kupwara

An official told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the youth, who lived near the forest, was found hanging in the Darpora area of Lolab.

The deceased was identified as Showkat Ahmad Peer, 24, son of Nizam Din Peer, a resident of Astanbuth, Darpora Lolab.

According to the official, the initial investigation suggests that the youth may have taken the extreme step himself. The official also said the preliminary probe indicated that he had been experiencing mental health difficulties.

Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
