SIA Kashmir Searches Nine Locations in Sarvanand Koul Premi 1990 Double-Murder Case

The searches were linked to FIR No. 45/1990, registered at Police Station Dooru in Anantnag district. The case has now been taken up for investigation by the SIA Kashmir.
The searches were carried out as part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings.
1990 Double Murder in Anantnag
The case dates back to May 1, 1990, when Kashmiri poet and writer Sarvanand Koul ‘Premi’, aged 66, and his younger son Verinder were shot dead in Anantnag.
The father and son had reportedly been abducted from their village a day before their deaths.

Premi was a well-known Kashmiri poet, writer and social worker whose literary work included translations and writings in several languages. His contribution to Kashmiri literature has continued to be remembered over the years.
