Rahul Gandhi Alleges Student

Rahul Gandhi Alleges Student Injured During NEET Protest, Demands Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation

Addressing a press conference, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Sahil was peacefully participating in a protest in Delhi on 20 July when he was struck in the face by a pellet fired by the Delhi Police. He claimed the injury has left the student at risk of permanently losing vision in one eye.

Rahul Gandhi said Sahil studies at Delhi University and works part-time as a driver to help support his family. According to him, Sahil was also affected by the alleged SSC Delhi Constable examination paper leak in 2025 and was worried after learning that the same examination vendor had reportedly been selected again.

He said Sahil joined the protests to seek justice, transparency and a better future for students but instead suffered serious injuries during the demonstration.

“This is what our students face for asking questions and demanding accountability,” Rahul Gandhi said, expressing solidarity with Sahil and all students taking part in the movement.

The Congress leader said the party stands with every student demanding a fair and transparent examination system.

Calling for accountability, Rahul Gandhi said, “Enough is enough. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must resign.”

The Delhi Police has not publicly responded to Rahul Gandhi’s specific allegation regarding the use of a pellet gun in Sahil’s case. Meanwhile, the Central Government has maintained that it will not seek the Education Minister’s resignation and has said it is implementing reforms to strengthen the examination system and prevent future paper leaks.
