The collaborative event brought together university leadership, faculty members, students, and outside academic experts.

Adapting to Modern Academic Needs

Prof. Sandhya Tiwari praised the Urdu Department for moving quickly to update its courses. She specifically commended Dr. Nusrat Jabeen, who successfully organized the workshop and finalized the syllabus revision within just one month of taking over as Head of the Department (HoD).

To ensure the new one-year PG program meets modern societal and academic demands, Prof. Tiwari recommended incorporating three critical areas into the coursework:

  • Skill Education: Practical training to boost employability.
  • Women-Centric Literature: Elevating diverse voices and perspectives.
  • Ecocriticism: Exploring the relationship between literature and the environment.

Additionally, the Dean suggested that postgraduate students should be assigned research supervisors by their third semester. This strategy will allow students to begin their research projects early and work more systematically.

Alignment with NEP-2020

Dr. Nusrat Jabeen emphasized that regularly updating the curriculum is essential to keeping the discipline relevant and maintaining high academic standards.

During the two-day event, participants thoroughly analyzed course content, learning objectives, and expected outcomes to align everything with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). The collaborative effort successfully resulted in a fully structured, forward-looking syllabus for the new postgraduate track.

Admissions Now Open

Looking ahead to the upcoming school year, Prof. Tiwari encouraged students from all over the country to apply to the university.
