Pakistani LeT Terrorist Yasir Killed in Joint Operation in Budgam’s Ashdar Gali

BUDGAM, JAMMU AND KASHMIR: The terrorist killed during a joint security operation in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district has been identified as Yasir, a Pakistani national affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Saturday. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The police confirmed Yasir’s identity in a post on X, writing, “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide!”
Terrorist Killed During Operation Ashdar
Yasir was killed during Operation Ashdar, a joint search operation carried out by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
According to the Army, security forces noticed suspicious movement during the operation and challenged the suspected terrorists. The suspects responded by opening fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
One terrorist was subsequently neutralised in the encounter.
Security forces recovered an AK-series rifle and other war-like stores from the site, the Army said.
Search Operation Continues
The operation had been underway since Thursday, with security forces carrying out extensive searches across the area following the encounter.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, also visited the operation site on Friday. He reviewed the security situation and took stock of the ongoing search operation.
Security forces continued their search efforts in the area to ensure that no other threats remained.
