Omar Abdullah Demands Apology from Mehbooba Mufti Over Kashmir Protest Remarks

Speaking in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah said he failed to understand how the use of force against protesters in Kashmir could be justified on the grounds of militancy. He said that if Mehbooba Mufti realised her remarks had caused hurt or were being widely criticised, she should have simply apologised instead of allowing the controversy to continue.
Omar also criticised attempts by others to dismiss the viral video as AI-generated, saying an apology would have been the appropriate response.
He further stated that when a former Chief Minister suggests that the use of force against public protests is justified, it discourages people in Jammu and Kashmir from peacefully raising their concerns and asserting their rights.
Questioning Mehbooba Mufti’s presence at the Jantar Mantar protest, Omar Abdullah said the demonstration was not related to Kashmir and remarked that it would have been better if she had not attended.
