CJP Welcomes Sonam Wangchuk’s Decision to End Hunger Strike, Vows Jantar Mantar Protest Will Continue

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the organisation was relieved that Wangchuk had ended his fast after receiving assurances from the Central Government. However, he stressed that the movement’s main demand remains unchanged and the peaceful agitation will continue.
According to Dipke, the protest is not centred on Wangchuk’s hunger strike alone but on seeking accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak and wider examination reforms. He said the protesters would remain at Jantar Mantar until the Education Minister steps down. (The Times of India)
Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day fast after Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh met him at Medanta Hospital and conveyed several government assurances. These included a discussion in Parliament on examination reforms, protection for peaceful protesters from legal action, and positive consideration of compensation for families of students who died by suicide following the NEET controversy.
Despite Wangchuk ending his fast, CJP leaders said the wider movement would continue through peaceful demonstrations and talks with the government until their key demands are fulfilled. Protesters maintain that accountability at the highest level is essential to restore trust in the country’s examination system.
