J&K Weather: Hot and Humid Conditions Likely, Heavy Rain Forecast on August 31 and September 1
Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally hot and humid weather over the next 10 days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places, according to the Meteorological Department.
The weather is expected to remain mostly hot and humid across the Union Territory, although some areas may receive short spells of rain and thunderstorms during the period.
Heavy rain warning for August 31 and September 1
The MeT has forecast intense showers at some places on August 31 and September 1, raising the possibility of flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas.
Residents living in areas prone to flooding and landslides have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.
The weather department said the rainfall activity is expected to be brief and localised, while hot and humid conditions are likely to continue across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities and residents in vulnerable locations have been urged to closely monitor weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall.
The latest forecast comes as the region continues to experience humid conditions, with occasional rain providing temporary relief in some areas but also creating risks in vulnerable mountainous and low-lying locations.
