Kashmir’s Owais Yaqoob Knocks Out Undefeated Bulgarian Fighter at BRAVE CF 107

The impressive victory in the 68kg catchweight bout handed Georgiev his first professional defeat and improved Yaqoob’s MMA record to 6 wins and 1 loss, extending his winning streak to six consecutive fights.

Dominant Performance from the Start

Owais Yaqoob entered the cage as the underdog but quickly took control of the contest with aggressive striking and relentless pressure.

The 28-year-old fighter from Murran village in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, overwhelmed Georgiev from the opening bell before forcing the referee to stop the contest after 4 minutes of the first round following a series of unanswered strikes.

Georgiev, a former two-time IMMAF World Champion who trains with Spain’s Team Topuria, suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career.

Proudly Representing Kashmir and India

Before the fight, Yaqoob made a memorable entrance by wearing a traditional Kashmiri karakuli cap and a black pashmina shawl while carrying the Indian national flag into the arena.

His walkout received praise from fans for proudly showcasing Kashmir’s culture on the international stage.

Emotional Message After Victory

After the referee stopped the fight, Yaqoob celebrated with his team before sharing an emotional message with the crowd.

“Alhamdulillah! Thank you Bulgaria for not supporting me, but one day you will love me. We are professional fighters. I want a belt for India. You don’t know how much pressure was on me. We travelled for 40 hours, had no sleep for two days, and worked hard on my weight.”

The statement reflected the challenges he faced before the fight and his determination to represent India at the highest level.

Rising Star in Indian MMA

Owais Yaqoob has emerged as one of India’s most promising MMA fighters. His latest victory under the BRAVE Combat Federation banner is expected to strengthen his reputation on the international circuit.

With six straight wins and growing confidence, the Kashmiri fighter is moving closer to competing for bigger opportunities and championship honours in global MMA.
