Sopore Road Accident: 60-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Run Over by Truck in Chankhan

A 60-year-old man was killed in a tragic road accident after being run over by a truck in the Chankhan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Ghulam Nabi Ganaie, a resident of Untoo Hamam in Sopore.

According to preliminary reports, Ghulam Nabi was travelling in a tonga and had reportedly just got down when a truck allegedly ran over him. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He suffered critical injuries in the incident and died at the spot, reports said.

The accident caused shock and grief among local residents, who expressed concern over road safety and the movement of heavy vehicles through populated areas.

The body was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore for medico-legal formalities. After the completion of the required procedures, it was handed over to the family for the last rites.

Meanwhile, police have initiated necessary proceedings and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
