Noida Software Engineer Killed in Alleged Attack by Wife’s Family, Five Arrested or Detained

Vinay Gupta was at his home in Nihal Vihar when members of his wife’s family allegedly arrived and attacked him.
According to his mother, the family initially believed the relatives had come for a peaceful visit and had no reason to expect violence.
‘They Came Straight Upstairs’
Recalling the incident, Vinay’s mother said the visitors entered the house and went upstairs.
She said the family initially treated them as relatives and expected the meeting to remain peaceful.
“I said, ‘Son, turn on the AC, give them water’,” she recalled.
However, she alleged that the situation changed within moments.
According to the grieving mother, Vinay was pinned down, thrown onto a bed and attacked.
She said the attackers grabbed him by the neck and repeatedly kicked and punched him.
His parents also tried to intervene but were allegedly pushed aside during the assault.
Mother Says Son Died on Way to Hospital
Vinay’s mother said she called out to neighbours for help after the attack began.
“By the time they arrived, they had finished my boy. He died on the way to the hospital. I only had one child,” she said.
Vinay’s father, who is reportedly a cancer patient, was also allegedly attacked when he attempted to stop the assault.
The family is demanding strict punishment for those responsible for Vinay’s death.
Family Alleges Attack Was Planned
According to Vinay’s family, the incident began with what they described as a minor domestic argument between Vinay and his wife, Rekha Gupta.
His family alleged that Rekha subsequently called members of her family, including her two brothers, father, mother, sister-in-law and uncle.
Vinay’s mother further alleged that her daughter-in-law had deliberately switched off the CCTV cameras before the attack.
These allegations are part of the family’s account of the incident and will be subject to investigation.
Sister Questions How Relatives Arrived So Quickly
Vinay’s sister, who was present at the house, also alleged that the attack had been planned in advance.
She claimed that Rekha left the house following an argument in the morning and returned with six members of her family within about 10 minutes.
The sister questioned how the relatives could have reached the house so quickly, claiming that they normally lived around 30 minutes away.
“It was completely pre-planned. Everything was orchestrated in advance,” she alleged.
She further claimed that the attackers refused the water offered to them before allegedly grabbing Vinay by his hair and attacking him.
Police Detain Four Accused
Police have detained four people in connection with the murder case and are searching for another accused who is reportedly absconding.
A forensic team has examined the crime scene as investigators work to establish the exact sequence of events.
The allegations made by Vinay’s family, including claims of pre-planning and the involvement of his wife, will form part of the investigation. The exact circumstances and responsibility of each accused will be determined through the police investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
Vinay Leaves Behind Twin Children
Vinay and Rekha had been married for around three-and-a-half years.
The couple have two twin children, who are reportedly only a few months old.
The death has left Vinay’s parents and other family members devastated, while the investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.
