KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown in Parts of Kashmir
The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of central Kashmir on July 20 and July 25, 2026, to facilitate maintenance work on key 33 KV transmission lines. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to a communication issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Badampora–Lar–Tulmulla line and the 33 KV Badampora–Kurhama–Dab line will be carried out on July 25.
As a result, electricity supply to Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Kurhama, Youngoora, Barsoo, Old Dab, Checki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Meanwhile, the shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng–Zakura line will be observed on July 20, affecting power supply to Pandach, Khalmulla, Umerheir, Panchayat, Ahmadnagar, Pathan Colony, Gulabagh and nearby localities.
Residents in these areas will experience power interruptions from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm while maintenance work is undertaken.
KPDCL has advised consumers to plan their activities accordingly and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, stating that the temporary shutdown is necessary to ensure the safe execution of essential maintenance works and improve the reliability of the electricity distribution network.
