Bank Strike

Banks to Remain Open on Sunday, September 27 Ahead of Three-Day Strike

All public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will remain open and operate normally on Sunday, September 27, 2026, ahead of a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.

The move has been taken to ensure that customers continue to have access to banking services despite the proposed strike following the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called the proposed strike, which is scheduled to take place from September 28 to September 30. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

According to the government, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the opening of all bank branches and offices, along with ATM-linked branches and Currency Chests, on September 27.

The decision is aimed at preventing an extended disruption to banking services and ensuring that customers can complete their essential banking requirements.

The government and bank managements have also appealed to the bank unions to defer the proposed strike, while stating that arrangements have been made to maintain the availability of essential banking services.

Officials said the welfare and convenience of bank customers remain a priority and that necessary measures have been taken to minimise the impact of the proposed strike.
