KPDCL Announces Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir, Lists Areas to Be Affected

The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Kashmir due to maintenance and related work on different transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdowns will affect power supply to several areas on different dates and during specified hours.

Budgam power shutdown

The shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line will be observed on September 6, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm.

During this period, power supply to Budgam, Sabdan, Nasrullahpora, Jawalapora, Town, Ompora, SIDCO Housing Colony, Railway Station Budgam, NIFT and adjoining areas will remain affected.

Tral areas to face power disruption

The shutdown of the 33 kV Tral-1st (Tapline Chewa) will be observed on August 30, 2026, from 8 am to 2 pm.

The affected areas will include Chewa, Tral Bala, Bajwani, Khalil, Bathnoor, Hayina and adjoining areas.

Pinjura line shutdown

The 33 kV Pinjura line will remain shut from 8 am to 2 pm on August 30, September 3 and September 7.

Power supply to Town Aarhama, Bongam, Pinjura, Killora, Imamsahib, Vehil, Nowgam, Shirmal and Bemnipora, along with adjoining areas, will be affected.

Pampore-BK Pora shutdown

The shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore-BK Pora line will be observed from 8 am to 2 pm on September 1 and September 5.

The affected areas include BK Pora, Khanda, Chattargam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Railway Station, Shalina, Wagoora, Wadapora, Aribagh and Checkpora, besides adjoining areas.

Lassipora-Reshipora line

The 33 kV Lassipora-Reshipora line will remain shut from 11 am to 4 pm on August 31 and September 2.

The shutdown will affect power supply to Zainapora, Chitragam, Awneera, Reban, Aglar, Sugan, Turkawangam and Nagbal, along with adjoining areas.

Lassipora-Landoora line

The shutdown of the 33 kV Lassipora-Landoora line will also be observed from 11 am to 4 pm on August 31 and September 2.

Power supply to Landoora, Hermain, Hajipora, Hotline, Hermain Hospital, Mantribugh, Chakoora, Wachi, Aglar, Frisal and Mooman, as well as adjoining areas, will be affected.

33 GIS-BAMK shutdown cancelled

Meanwhile, KPDCL said that the shutdown of the 33 GIS-BAMK line scheduled for August 30, 2026, has been cancelled.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to plan their electricity-dependent activities accordingly during the scheduled shutdown hours.
