According to Hindustan Times, Athawale said Dipke is a young and active Ambedkarite who should consider joining the RPI(A).
“I think Abhijeet Dipke is an Ambedkarite. He is active and young. He should consider joining the Republican Party of India (A),” Athawale said.
Athawale Says Dipke Could Help Strengthen Party
Athawale said Dipke could join the party to contribute towards fulfilling the vision of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar while also helping strengthen society and the organisation.
“We are a government that believes people should be punished if they do wrong. So, he should join the ruling faction,” the RPI leader said.
The Republican Party of India (A) is currently an ally of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre.
Dipke Previously Ruled Out Electoral Politics
Dipke has not yet publicly responded to Athawale’s invitation.
However, the CJP founder has previously indicated that he is not interested in entering electoral politics. He has argued that the Cockroach Janta Party should continue to function as a public movement rather than becoming another conventional political party.
Dipke has also said that many people have lost faith in politics and the electoral system.
According to his earlier position, India needs a stronger public movement rather than another political party to address people’s concerns.
Athawale’s invitation has therefore opened a new question about whether Dipke could reconsider his position and enter mainstream politics.
