Five Army Personnel Missing After Flash Flood in Arunachal Pradesh, Four Killed in Landslide
Five Army personnel went missing after a flash flood triggered by heavy rainfall washed away two shelters at an Army camp in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley district, officials said on Saturday.

According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, both incidents took place on Friday evening.
Four Killed in Upper Subansiri Landslide
The landslide occurred at the Keojaring-Byaching road cutting site in Upper Subansiri district, where several people were reportedly buried under the debris.
Four people — Tadu Baki, Taji Rai, Markosh Basumatari and Babul Ali — were reported dead.
The body of Babul Ali has been recovered, according to the district disaster management officer of Upper Subansiri.
Personnel from Nacho Police Station have been deployed to assist with the search and recovery operation. Fire and Emergency Services teams are also being mobilised from Daporijo.
A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) will join the rescue operation.
Five Army Personnel Missing in Dibang Valley
In Dibang Valley, two shelters belonging to the 5th Grenadier at Pasu Pani Army Camp were washed away by a flash flood following heavy rainfall on Friday evening.
Officials said the flash flood swept away seven Army personnel. Two were rescued, while five remain missing.
The missing personnel have been identified as Havaldar Upendar and Army personnel Kundan, Vinod, Aditya and Samunda.
Two search and rescue teams from the 5th Grenadier have already been deployed to locate the missing personnel.
Army, ITBP and SDRF Join Search Operation
Teams from the 58th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), 62 RCC of the General Reserve Engineer Force, Arunachal Pradesh Police and local volunteers have been sent to the affected area.
An SDRF team from Pasighat is also travelling to Anini to support the search and rescue operation.
Authorities are continuing efforts to locate the missing Army personnel and recover those trapped under the landslide debris.
The incidents highlight the dangers posed by heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in remote and mountainous areas.
