The State Election Commission Jammu and Kashmir has announced the annual revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll, setting April 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.
According to the official notification, the electoral roll will be prepared under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989 and the rules laid down in the J&K Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996.
The commission stated that the revision will be based on the last updated electoral roll, and all existing names will serve as the foundation for preparing the new list. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will publish the latest integrated electoral roll in each Halqa Panchayat on March 27, 2026, along with a notice in Form PER-1.
The draft Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026 will then be open for revision from March 27, allowing eligible voters to submit claims and objections. These may include requests for adding new names, deleting entries, making corrections, or shifting details.
The deadline for submitting claims and objections is April 29, 2026.
To support the process, special camps will be organised at polling booth locations on April 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26, 2026. During these camps, Panchayat Election Booth Officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will assist voters and provide the necessary forms and draft rolls.
Voters can also contact the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), or Panchayat Election Booth Official (PEBO) for help. Their contact details are available at district offices and on the official website.
The commission further stated that all claims and objections will be reviewed by the EROs by May 8, 2026, and the final electoral roll will be officially published on May 15, 2026.
This revision process aims to ensure accurate and updated voter lists for upcoming Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
