New Rules for Hajj 2026

This year, Saudi authorities have introduced stricter rules:

  • Health screening is stricter, and some applicants with serious illnesses were declared unfit
  • Self-cooking facilities removed in areas like Azizia
  • Pilgrims will receive smartwatches with SIM-based tracking, replacing old wristbands

These changes aim to improve safety and monitoring during the pilgrimage.

Flight Capacity Reduced

Due to maintenance work at Srinagar Airport:

  • Aircraft capacity reduced from 189 to around 145 passengers
  • Baggage limit cut from 40 kg to 25 kg
  • Flights will include a refuelling stop in Delhi

Despite this, immigration formalities will be completed in Srinagar itself.

Arrangements for Pilgrims

Pilgrims from Jammu division and Ladakh will stay at Hajj House Srinagar before departure.

After completing all formalities, flights will proceed towards Madinah with a brief halt in Delhi.

Final Note

The Hajj journey is one of the most important spiritual experiences for Muslims. Authorities have made special arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage for all travellers from Jammu and Kashmir.
