Claims of Growing Public Discontent
Speaking to KNS, Iltija Mufti said people have “given up hope” on the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference government.
She claimed that her mother, Mehbooba Mufti, is now seen by many residents as the only leader in Jammu and Kashmir who speaks honestly.
According to her, public dissatisfaction with the present administration is rising steadily.
Urdu Language Issue Raised
Iltija Mufti strongly criticised the alleged removal of Urdu and other regional languages from revenue records. She suggested that such steps have hurt the identity and cultural connection of local communities.
Urdu has long held importance in administration and public life across Jammu and Kashmir.
Unemployment and Power Bill Promises
She also raised concerns over unemployment and unmet promises related to electricity bill waivers.
Iltija said many young people approach her seeking relief from power bills, showing the financial difficulties faced by families.
Taking a swipe at the Chief Minister, she said remarks asking people not to hold the government accountable reflected an inability to deliver on promises.
Political Heat Rising in J&K
Her latest comments come amid growing political debate in Jammu and Kashmir, where opposition parties continue to question the performance of the current administration on jobs, governance and public welfare issues.
