According to officials, FIR No. 93/2026 has been lodged at Police Station Sopore under relevant legal sections.
Police said an investigation has already started to identify those involved.
Warning Over Fake Content
In a public advisory, Sopore Police asked citizens not to create, share, or spread unverified posts on social media platforms.
Officials warned that those found involved in spreading rumours or false claims online may face legal action.

Police also advised people to trust only official information released by government departments or law enforcement agencies.Authorities said responsible use of social media is important to maintain peace and public order in the area.
