AIP Demands Engineer Rashid’s Temporary Release
Following his death, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) appealed to the Central Government to grant Engineer Rashid parole or temporary bail so he can attend his father’s funeral and perform the last rites.
AIP chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi described the matter as humanitarian and urged authorities to allow Rashid to stand with his family during the difficult time.
“Let a son bury his father,” he said while appealing for his temporary release.
Background of Engineer Rashid

Earlier in April 2026, the Delhi High Court had granted him one-week interim bail to visit his ailing father in Srinagar. After meeting his father at the hospital, he returned to jail following the completion of the bail period.
