Baramulla Police Issues Advisory to Media and Social Media Users

Avoid Sharing Sensitive Security Information

Police urged people not to publish or circulate content that could reveal sensitive security details. These include:

  • Security arrangements of officers and protected persons
  • Deployment patterns and strength of security personnel
  • Access control and frisking procedures
  • Evacuation plans and emergency protocols
  • Vehicle formations and escort arrangements
  • Route security measures

Warning Against Showing Tactical Details

The advisory also asked media professionals and social media users to avoid sharing visuals that show:

  • Communication equipment
  • Command and control positions
  • Tactical procedures
  • Close-up footage of officers or personnel involved in sensitive operations

Police said such information could be misused by hostile elements to study security procedures, identify weaknesses and plan harmful activities.

Prior Permission Required

Baramulla Police stated that prior permission should be obtained before recording police deployments, security arrangements or officers performing official duties in sensitive situations.

Responsible Reporting Encouraged

While welcoming media coverage of public events and official programmes, the police stressed that reporting should be carried out responsibly without affecting operational security.

Legal Action for Violations

The advisory warned that publishing or sharing content that threatens security or public order may lead to legal action.

According to the District Police Baramulla, these guidelines have been issued to ensure public safety, protect security personnel and maintain law and order in the district.
