Training Aircraft Crashes Near Kanpur Ganga Barrage, Two Pilots Killed
A twin-engine, four-seater training aircraft crashed into an open agricultural field near Natthupurwa village, close to the Ganga Barrage in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district, on Thursday afternoon.

Training Aircraft Crashes Near Ganga Barrage
The aircraft was reportedly carrying out a routine training flight when it lost control in the air and crashed into a field near the Ganges river.
Local farmers and residents said they heard a loud noise before seeing smoke rising from the crash site.
The aircraft was badly damaged in the impact, with the cockpit and main body of the plane suffering severe damage.
One of the pilots died at the scene, while the second was critically injured and later died.
Police officers, local officials and medical teams quickly reached the area. The site was secured while the bodies were recovered and preparations were made for further investigation.
Investigation Into Aircraft Crash
The aircraft was a twin-engine light training plane used for pilot training, including multi-engine and commercial pilot courses.
Aviation authorities are investigating the crash to determine what caused the aircraft to lose control.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) are expected to examine several aspects of the flight.
These include the aircraft’s maintenance records, weather conditions, engine data and air traffic control communications.
Officials are also checking flight and take-off records from flight training academies operating from Kanpur’s Chakeri Civil Aerodrome and other nearby aviation centres in Uttar Pradesh.
The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established.
Yogi Adityanath Expresses Condolences
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two pilots.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed the Kanpur district administration to provide all possible assistance.
Authorities are continuing their investigation as aviation officials work to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
