CJP Team Attacked

CJP Team Attacked During School Inspection in Jaipur Village, Party Blames BJP Supporters

Members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) were allegedly attacked and forced to leave a village in Jaipur on Friday while attempting to inspect a government primary school.

The incident took place in Rampura Kanwarpura village, located in Jaipur’s Bagru Assembly constituency, where the CJP team had gone as part of its campaign to inspect the condition of government schools. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The team was led by CJP co-founder and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka.

Videos from the area showed a crowd confronting the CJP members as they attempted to enter the village. The protesters were seen shouting slogans and accusing the group of being “anti-national”, “urban Naxals” and “Pakistanis”.

The CJP members eventually left the village without being able to inspect the school.

CJP Alleges Attack by BJP Supporters

Ranka alleged that the team was attacked by people associated with the BJP.

He claimed that members of the team were assaulted, vehicles were damaged and mobile phones were broken during the incident. He also alleged that a woman member of the team was assaulted and that one volunteer suffered a fractured hand.

Ranka said the CJP team had been invited by local residents to inspect the government school, which he alleged had been operating from a cowshed because of poor infrastructure.

He also appealed to the media not to blame the villagers, claiming that people from outside the village had been brought in to create a confrontation.

The allegations made by the CJP have not been independently established.

BJP MLA Gives Different Account

Jaipur MLA Swami Balmukundacharya, who belongs to the BJP, gave a different account of the incident.

He said he had been informed that local residents objected to the CJP team’s visit and did not allow its members to enter the village.

The BJP MLA said the incident reflected opposition among villagers to what he described as the CJP’s political activities.

CJP Volunteer Says Women Were Also Targeted

CJP member Shivangi Sharma, who was part of the team, alleged that women members were also abused and assaulted during the confrontation.

Sharma said she was born and raised in the area and questioned why she was being described as an outsider.

She said the incident had left her deeply upset and criticised the language used by people confronting the CJP team.

Villagers Question CJP’s Visit

Some people who identified themselves as villagers said they did not want the CJP team to visit their area.

One villager questioned why the group was focusing on Rajasthan and said the organisation should instead work in other states.

Another resident highlighted the lack of basic infrastructure in the area, saying people wanted better roads, schools and other facilities.

The contrasting accounts have added to the controversy surrounding the incident.

Political Row Reaches Rajasthan Assembly

The incident also triggered a political confrontation in the Rajasthan Assembly, with the Congress and BJP trading allegations.

Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasara blamed the BJP for the alleged attack.

The BJP, however, rejected the allegation. Rajasthan Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedam accused the Congress of creating political trouble under the banner of the CJP.

CJP’s School Inspection Campaign

The incident comes amid the CJP’s wider “School Thik Karo” campaign, under which the organisation says its volunteers are inspecting government schools and highlighting problems related to infrastructure, teachers and basic facilities.

The campaign has attracted considerable political attention in Rajasthan.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Education Department restricted outsiders from entering government schools without prior permission and also introduced restrictions on photography, videography and interviews involving students and teachers. The move came shortly after the CJP announced its school inspection campaign.

The CJP has continued to argue that its campaign is aimed at highlighting problems in government schools and pushing authorities to improve facilities.

The Jaipur incident is likely to intensify the political debate over the campaign, with the CJP alleging intimidation and its opponents questioning the organisation’s methods and political motives.
