According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out Branch cutting/ pruning of trees coming under 33 KV lines, shutdown of 33 KV Lisser Kokernag line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Kokernag, Dandipora shall remain off while power supply to Kokernag, Dandipora, Sagam, Vailoo and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 31 May, 2025.

Similarly to facilitate Branch cutting/ pruning of trees coming under 33 KV lines, the shutdown of 33 KV Mattan Achabal line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Achabal, Shangus, Cherpora shall remain off while power supply to Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora, Uteersoo and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 31 May, 2025.

Also to carry out Upgradation of 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR line, the shutdown of 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veer and Cheeniwadder shall remain off while power supply to Shamsipora, Jablipora, Zirpara, Veer, Srigufwara, SICOP areas and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 31 May, 2025.

Meanwhile as per a separate shutdown, schedule issued here from the office of Chief Engineer, KPDCL, in order to carry out Branch cutting and preventive maintenance and stabilization of 33 KV lines and Receiving Stations, the shutdown of 33 KV Pampore Khrew line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Shar Shali, Khrew-1st, Khrew-2nd, 01 MVA of TLMD-4th shall remain off while power supply to Khrew, Shar Shali, Wahab Sahab, Bathan, Zantrang and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 02 June, 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of 33 KV Pampore-Lethpora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Lethpora, Konibal, LIS-1st, 2nd& 3rd, Khyber Milk, BPCL shall remain off while power supply to Khrew, Chandhara, Samboora, Patalbagh, Lethpora, CRPF Lethpora, Dusoo, Ladhoo, Konibal, Goondbal, Gooripora, Chandhara, various LIS and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 04 June, 2025.

Further to facilitate the works related to newly created 63 KVA Substation for WSS Stage 1st at SethergundKakapora, the shutdown of 33 KV Pampore-Pulwama line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Newa, Kakapora, LIS Marvel Stage-I, II, III & IV shall remain off while power supply to Kakapora, Newa, Gadoora, Parigam, Narbal, Ukhoo, Marvel, Zadoora, Wahibugh and adjoining areas will be affected from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM on 02 June, 2025.

Amritpal Singh, IPS, on Monday assumed charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anantnag.

According to a statement issued here, Upon his arrival at the District Police Headquarters,  Amritpal Singh was accorded a warm welcome by senior police officers of the district. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented in his honour.

In a brief yet impressive function, the outgoing SSP, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, formally handed over the charge to the new incumbent.

Following the assumption of charge, SSP Amritpal Singh held an introductory meeting with the police officers of the district. During the interaction, he emphasized the importance of dedicated and enthusiastic service.

He urged all officers to remain committed to public welfare and to work proactively towards addressing the concerns and issues faced by the community.

On his arrival, the incumbent officer was warmly received by senior Police officers of the District and Guard of honour was presented at District Police Headquarters Ganderbal. The outgoing SSP Shri Ragav S, IPS handed over the Baton to the incumbent officer in a brief but impressive function.

Power Shutdown Schedule Announced by KPDCL for Multiple Areas in April 2025

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, for construction widening/ strengthening of 02 lane by BEACON, the shutdown of 33KV Amargarh Watergam line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Ganapora, Hachipora, Watergam, Hadipora and Safalpora shall remain off while power supply to Ganapora, Hachipora, Watergam, Hadipora, Safalpora and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 15 April, 2025.

Similarly, to carry out shifting of utilities by BEACON on Kupwara Chowkibal near Bypass, the shutdown of 33KV Handwara-HOT line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Handwara, Chogul and Pohrupeth shall remain off while power supply to the Handwara, Chogul, Pohrupeth and adjoining areas will be affected from from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 14 April, 2025.

Further, shutdown for R/stn to install new 6.3 MVA Power Transformer, the shutdown of 33KV Bandipora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Tujjar shall remain off while power supply to Harwan, Tujjar Shrine and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 08 April, 2025.

Also, to carry out replacement/ repair of 1500 mm Nominal Dia rising and corridor for lift irrigation Rafiabad, the shutdown of 33KV SIDCO line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Rohama Chakloo shall remain off while power supply to Rohama Chakloo and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 10 April, 2025.

Moreover, to facilitate the work of laying of conductor on 11 KV fixtures mounted on 33 KV Poles from Narpora to Chudrigund for shifting of load from the overloaded Kanir Zoohama feeder on Receiving Station Hafroo, the shutdown of 33KV Nagam Hafroo Tap line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Hafroo shall remain off while power supply to the Hafroo, Lolipora, Watkul, Darwan, Shopora and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 05:00 PM on 07 &10 April, 2025.

Motor Vehicle Department Bans Unauthorized Stickers and Posters on Vehicles

The Motor Vehicle Department today issued a circular restricting use of unauthorized stickers, posters or banners on vehicles.

“The stakeholders are hereby informed that no unauthorized stickers, posters, or banners except fitment of Reflectors (as per Rule 104 of CMVR) shall be allowed on vehicles. Besides all unauthorized decals, stickers, masking and posters which are pasted on vehicles shall be removed within 21 days from the issuance of this circular, failing which special enforcement drives shall be launched to ensure strict adherence to the set guidelines” a circular issued by the Transport Commissioner stated.

According to the Chief Engineer, JKPDCL Kashmir, in order carry out commissioning of NIFPES System of various transformers of 160 MVA, 220/132 KV Transformer banks, Wussan, Safapora, Kangan, USHP-I &II, Lal Bazar, BAMK, Hazratbal, Ellahibagh, Lar-Tullmulla, Ajar, Aloosa, Gurez, Zakura, Power House and Nagbal feeders falling under 220/132 KV, 160 MVA, Transformer Bank-I, Alusteng and 220/132 KV, 160 MVA, Transformer Bank-II, Alusteng Grid Stations will be affected resulting in power shutdown in Wussan, Safapora, Kangan, Lal Bazar, BAMK, Hazratbal, Ellahibagh, Lar-Tullmulla, Ajar, Aloosa, Gurez, Zakura, Nagbal and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 10 March, 2025 and 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 11 March, 2025.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out Installation of DTR structure and laying of LT Cable under RDSS, the shutdown of 33KV Habbak-Zakura-Burzhama Line shall be observed due to which Receiving Station at Zakura and Burzhama shall remain off while power supply to the Zakura, Batpora, Gulab Bagh, Danihama, Khimber, Chaterhama, Teilbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shoperbagh and Rahbagh will be affected from 10:30 AM to 04:00 PM on 10 March, 2025.

Similarly, to carry out the erection of poles of 33 KV Tapline of Awantipora Line, the shutdown of 33KV Awantipora- Awantipora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at DPL Awantipora and Floor Mills shall remain off while the power supply to DPL Awantipora and Floor Mills will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 6 & 8 March 2025.

In order to carry out stabilization, erection of poles and preventive maintenance of 33KV line, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Khrew line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Khrew-I, Khrew-2nd and Shar Shali shall remain off while power supply to the Khrew, Bathen, Shar, Wahab Sahab areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 05 March, 2025.

Also, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Lethpora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Konibal, Lethpora, LIS Ladhoo and Mills shall remain off while power supply to the Samboora, Lethpora, Patalbagh, Chandhara, Konibal & Drusoo areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 06 March, 2025.

Further, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Wagoora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Kadlabal and HPCL shall remain off while power supply to the Gas Turbine and HPCL areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 05 March, 2025.

Meanwhile, to carry out the augmentation of conductor of 33 KV Pampore- Pulwama line, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Pulwama line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Newa, Kakapora, LIS Marvel-I,II,III & IV shall remain off while power supply to the Kakapora, Newa, Gadoora, Parigam, Narbal, Ukhoo & Marvel areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 06 & 08 March, 2025. However the essential feeder of affected Receiving Stations shall remain charged via Lassipora-Pulwama line & load shall run as per availability.

Moreover, to carry out stabilization and augmentation of 33 KV line, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Pampore line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Pampore-I and Pampore-II shall remain off while power supply to the Pampore, Zewan, Tengan, JKEDI, ITBP areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 05, 08 & 12 March, 2025.

Also, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-SIDCO line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Cement Plants of Khrew and IE Khrew shall remain off while power supply to IE Khrew & Cement Plants will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 05, 08 & 12 March, 2025.

Further, the shutdown of 33KV Pampore-Badamibagh line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Sonwar, Badamibagh, Panthachowk, Lasjan, WSS Tangnar shall remain off while power supply to Sonwar, Badamibagh, Panthachowk and Lasjan areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 01:30 PM on 05 & 12 March, 2025.

In order to carry out erection of ST poles and laying of ACSR conductor under stabilization of 33 KV Pinjoora Line, the shutdown of 33KV Kanipora- Pinjoora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Pinjoora, Arhama and Chowdharygund shall remain off while power supply to Pinjoora, Arhama, Pahnoo, Trenz, Kilora, Imamsahib, Vehil, Reshinagri, Shirmal, Chowdrigund, Reshinagar & Saidpora areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 06 & 09 March, 2025.

To facilitate upgradation of 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR, the shutdown of 33KV Wanpoh SICOP Line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veeri, Cheniwader and Shuhul Flour Mill shall remain off while power supply to the Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, Shamsipora, Bijbehara-SICOP area and other adjoining areas will be affected from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM on 08, 11, 13 & 16 March, 2025.

KPDCL Managing Director Reviews Power Supply, Revenue Efforts in South Kashmir Ahead of Ramzan

The KPDCL Managing Director (MD) accompanied by the Superintending Engineer of South Circle Bijbehara and concerned Executive Engineers and other officials, visited South Kashmir to assess the ongoing revenue realization efforts, progress under the RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme), the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and measures taken to ensure a reliable power supply during the Holy month of Ramzan.

During the visit, MD conducted a detailed review of the revenue realized in comparison to set targets, directing concerned officials to expedite the disconnection of consumers with outstanding arrears.

He emphasized the importance of achieving the revenue targets in full and underscored the continued need for rigorous inspections to curb power pilferage and theft.

MD commended the dedicated efforts of the field staff and engineers who have been working tirelessly to improve revenue realization and restore power supply despite several challenges.

He also reviewed the progress made under the RDSS scheme in the region, urging officials from the Project Wing and the Project Implementing Agency, Powergrid Energy Services Ltd (PESL) to accelerate work and ensure timely completion of approved projects.

While reviewing PM Surya Ghar Yojana, he highlighted the need to increase awareness about the scheme and to encourage more consumers to avail themselves of the government subsidy. He called for focused efforts to cover the maximum number of beneficiaries under the scheme.

As part of his visit, the MD toured the Receiving Station Sangam and directed all Sub-Transmission and Distribution level officers to strictly adhere to the curtailment program.

He stressed the importance of efficient power supply management to ensure seamless and reliable power during Ramzan particularly during Sehri and Iftaar.

With adverse weather conditions expected towards the end of the month, the MD advised all officers to remain vigilant & prepared and instructed them to have personnel and materials ready to respond swiftly to any outages and ensure timely restoration of power.

J&K Bank’s mPay is facing a widespread outage, leaving thousands of customers unable to access their accounts or make digital transactions.

The sudden disruption has caused major inconvenience, especially for people who rely on the app for daily financial needs.Many users took to social media to express their frustration, highlighting the recurring technical issues with the bank’s online services.

“This is the third time in the past few months that mPay has gone down when I needed it the most. I had to send an urgent payment, but now I am stuck with no alternative,” said Irfan Ahmad, a businessman from Srinagar.

Another user, Mehnaz Bhat from Jammu, shared a similar experience.“I was at a store when my payment failed. It’s embarrassing and frustrating. J&K Bank needs to fix these recurring issues.

Students and professionals, who depend on mPay for daily transactions, have also been severely impacted. “I had to pay my exam fees online, but the app isn’t working,” complained Aadil Hussain, a university student.

The issue has raised concerns over J&K Bank’s digital infrastructure, with many questioning the bank’s preparedness to handle technical glitches.As of now, the bank has not issued an official statement regarding the outage. (KNS)
