Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Pulwama have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances during their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “During the course of investigation of case FIR No. 246/2024 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act of PS Pulwama, further leads were developed, which led to the arrest of two more drug peddlers identified as Sajad Ahmed Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri and Mudasir Ahmed Thoker son of Gh Hassan Thoker resident of Sonasamil. 264.5 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of one of the accused Mudasir Ahmad.”Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Pertinently, a drug peddler namely Shabir Ahmed Chowdary son of Mir Ali Chowdary resident of Sidhra Jammu has already been arrested along with his vehicle JK02DB-4579 in the instant case besides, 305 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession.

People are requested to cooperate with Police in the fight against the drug menace by sharing any information regarding drug peddling or trafficking in their areas. People can contact nearest police station to report any suspicious activities and help to create a drug-free society.

Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substances abuse under Operation *Sanjeevani*, R.S Pura Police achieved a major success by recovering *7.78 grams of Charas like substance along with 48 tablets of Clonazepam* from two drug peddlers in the area under the jurisdiction of PS R.S Pura.

A Police team of PS R.S.Pura led by SHO PS R.S Pura assisted by Police officials on 17.12.2024 while on routine patrolling, established a naka at *Village Banota* and rounded up two suspects later identified as

*1. Tinku Kumar S/o Tilak Raj R/o Banota Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu*

*2. Sahil Kumar S/o Om Parkash R/o Banota Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu *. During search, *7.78 grams of Charas like substance along with 48 tablets of Clonazepam* got recovered from the possession of accused persons.

In this regard, case *FIR No. 268/2024 U/S 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act* stands registered at PS R.S Pura and accused persons got arrested, further investigation is underway to uncover the source of the contraband and any potential links to a larger drug network.

The arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Hqrs Jammu.

A team of PS Parimpora during naka checking at Barthana Bund, intercepted an Alto vehicle bearing registration number JK01J 7081 with the accused persons on board, who have been identified as Asif Ahmad Sheikh son of Ab Razaq Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh son of Lateef Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Babapora Barthana.

During search, substantial quantity of contraband substances was recovered from their possession.
Upon this, Case FIR No. 136/2024 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered in PS Parimpora.

Both the accused persons have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.

The two accused persons are hard-core drug peddlers engaged in large-scale narcotic trafficking among the youth. Notably, one of the accused persons namely Arif Ahmad Sheikh, has been previously involved in another case FIR No. 34/2023 under sections 8/20, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act of PS Parimpora.

During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the accused person namely Asif Ahmad Sheikh had constructed a double-storeyed house at Babapora Barthana from the proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.

The said property has been seized under the provisions of section 68 of the NDPS Act, with intimation to the competent authority for further legal action.Srinagar police appeals to the public to report any instances of drug peddling or other criminal activities they may witness in their surroundings.You can reach out to the nearest police station or call 112 to share information.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society,Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday has arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A spokesperson said that Police party of Police Post Urdu Bazar during Naka checking at Budgeer Kawdara crossing arrested two drug peddlers namely Milad Bashir Bhat son of Late Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Dolipora Kawdara and Toyab Ahmad Shekh son of Late Mohammad Shafi Sheikh resident of Surnai Mohalla Kawdara.

During search,about 16 gms of Charas-like substance and 210 gms of ganja-like substance was recovered from their possession.

“In this connection, case FIR No. 53/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in PS M R Gunj and investigation into the matter has been initiated”, he said.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A spokesperson said that police party of Police Station Kulgam during patrolling at village Kaharwath intercepted a vehicle (Tata mobile) bearing registration number JK18D-4327 with two persons on board. During search, 250 grams of Poppy Straw like substance filled in a bag was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mashooq Ahmad Hella son of Abdul Rashid resident of Batpora Kulgam and Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Okey Kulgam. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 177/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.

Police have arrested two drug peddlers including a woman and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said that party of PS Bijbehara at a checkpoint established within their jurisdiction, arrested a woman drug peddler identified as Gulshana wife of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie resident of Takiya Maksood Shah, Bijbehara. The arrest followed the recovery of 8 Kgs of a Cannabis Powder from her possession.

Meanwhile in Srinagar, a Police party during patrolling in Rakh Arth Axis, arrested a drug peddler identified as Sahil Hameed son of Abdul Hamid Parray resident of Ramber Garh Shalteng Srinagar. During search, 60 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case vide FIR No.73/2024 has been registered and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Police in Srinagar have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances & cash from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “At a checkpoint established on NHW opposite Tehsil Office Central Shalteng by Srinagar Police, a truck bearing registration number JK18-2323 was intercepted with two persons on board. They have been identified as Tajamul Rafiq son of Mohd Rafiq resident of Kandi Tangdhar and Manzoor Ahmad Khan son of Jalal ud din Khan resident of Hayhama Kupwara A/P Palpora Noorbagh, Srinagar.”

“During search, 14 grams of Brown Sugar and cash amount of ₹34,000 (believed to be proceeds of narcotics) have been recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and the vechicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized”, he said.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.72/2024 has been registered and investigation has been initiated.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday  have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession in North Kashmir’s Sopore.

A Spokesperson said that a Police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC PP Fruit Mandi during patrolling at Nowpora Byepass Road apprehended two persons in a suspicious condition. During search, officers were able to recover 540 banned tablets (Alprazolam) from their possession.

“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 223/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated”, he said.
