Action Against Alleged Militant Links

Officials said the move aims to remove individuals with suspected militant connections from government institutions.

LG Manoj Sinha has repeatedly stated that the administration is committed to eliminating terrorism completely and ensuring that no such elements remain within the system.

Details of the First Employee

One of the dismissed employees, Farhat Ali Khanday, was a Class-IV worker in the education department in Ramban district.

According to sources, he was allegedly linked to Hizbul Mujahideen and used his position to support militant activities and networks.

He first came under investigation in 2011 in connection with a hawala funding case linked to militant families. Although he was arrested and later released on bail, officials claim he continued his involvement.

A chargesheet was filed against him in 2022, and investigations suggested he maintained contact with militant networks.

Second Employee from Bandipora

The second employee, Mohammad Shafi Dar from Bandipora, worked in the rural development department and had been appointed on compassionate grounds.

He was allegedly associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and accused of providing logistical support, including arranging safe houses and sharing sensitive information about security forces.

Officials said he was arrested in April 2025 during a joint naka check, where arms and ammunition, including an AK-56 rifle and a grenade, were recovered.

Part of Larger Crackdown

Authorities said this action is part of a wider crackdown, with over 90 government employees dismissed so far in Jammu and Kashmir over alleged terror links.

LG Sinha has reaffirmed that the government will continue strict measures to ensure public safety and remove any threats from within state institutions.

The administration has made it clear that its efforts to combat terrorism will remain firm and ongoing.
