Omar Abdullah Government Setting New Benchmark for Transparent Governance in J&K: Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar: Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is setting a new benchmark for transparent and people-centric governance in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the interaction, he said that since assuming office, the Omar Abdullah-led administration has taken decisive steps to strengthen governance, revive public institutions, and address the pressing concerns of the people.
He added that the government is working with dedication to improve service delivery, accelerate development projects, and restore public confidence in democratic institutions.
Focus on Transparency and Accountability
Dr. Farooq emphasised that good governance, transparency, and accountability remain the core priorities of the present administration.
He said the government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society across Jammu and Kashmir.
Call for Restoration of Statehood
Highlighting the importance of political empowerment, the National Conference president reiterated that the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir would enable the elected government to function with greater authority and efficiency.
According to him, the return of statehood would allow the government to take stronger policy decisions, accelerate development initiatives, and further strengthen democratic governance in the region.
Appeal to Party Workers
Dr. Farooq also urged party workers to remain connected with the people and actively highlight the government’s initiatives and achievements at the grassroots level.
Several party functionaries including senior leader Muhammad Khalil Bandh, MLA Bandipora Nizam Ud Din Bhat, MLA Karnah Javed Ahmad Mirchal, District President Kulgam Safdar Ali Khan, Deepak Mahajan, Vijay Kumar, and Shiri Moneesh were present during the interaction.
