Cyber Police Kashmir has issued an advisory urging all social media users to maintain online decorum and refrain from posting, sharing, or amplifying any content that promotes sectarian hatred or disrupts sectarian harmony.
“Cyber Police is actively monitoring social media platforms for any malicious content aimed at disturbing peace. Strict legal action will be taken against violators under the relevant provisions of the law,” said Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Kashmir.
The SP further appealed to the public to act responsibly while engaging online, emphasizing the collective responsibility to ensure peace and unity.
Cyber Police Kashmir remains committed to fostering a safe and secure online environment. Citizens are encouraged to report any such content through the official helpline or email. (KNS)

The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Jammu and Kashmir, expresses grave concern over attempts to disrupt communal harmony and brotherhood in the region by stoking sectarian tensions. Recent derogatory remarks reportedly made by an individual against the revered companions and Khulafa-e-Rashideen (may Allah be pleased with them) are deeply hurtful and unacceptable.
The companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) hold an exalted status in Islam, and any disrespect towards them is a grave affront to the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah and cannot be tolerated Such statements are not only against the spirit of Islamic teachings but also serve as a deliberate attempt to divide our community, which has a long-standing tradition of unity and mutual respect in Jammu and Kashmir.
The MMU strongly condemns such actions and calls upon members of all sects to exercise wisdom, restraint, and mutual respect in their speech and actions.Islam teaches us to maintain unity and avoid actions that sow discord among Muslims. We urge religious scholars and leaders across all sects to guide their followers towards preserving the sanctity of the faith and upholding the values of brotherhood.
We also urge the authorities to take immediate and appropriate action against those responsible for making such inflammatory remarks to prevent further disruption of peace and communal harmony in the region.
The MMU reiterates its commitment to fostering unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence in Jammu and Kashmir and calls on all sections of society to reject divisive rhetoric and work collectively towards strengthening our shared bonds.

Bandipora Police Recover Rs 5.50 Lakhs and Stolen Mobile Phones, Urge Public Caution Against Cyber Crimes

Bandipora Police had received multiple complaints from the general public regarding various financial frauds, missing/stolen mobile phones and other social media crimes.
Acting on these complaints, Bandipora police achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering an amount of Rs 5.50 Lakhs from the fraudsters’ accounts, and the same was refunded to the victims’ Bank Accounts after completion of all legal formalities.
Moreover, 19 missing/ stolen smartphones worth 03 lakhs were also recovered and handed over to their owners after the completion of necessary legal formalities. Recipients expressed their gratitude & appreciation to Bandipora police’s relentless efforts in recovering their hard-earned money and mobile phones.

Srinagar Police Initiate Action Against Individuals Making Sectarian Remarks on Social Media

Srinagar Police on Tuesday said that they have initiated action against individuals involved in making derogatory sectarian remarks on social media.

In a post on X, Police said, “a few individuals accused of such acts are currently being questioned at the police station, with legal proceedings underway. The authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against the offenders in accordance with the law.”

In recent months, the police have observed a concerning trend of individuals spreading sectarian slander on social media platforms. These activities, believed to be driven by malicious intent, appear aimed at fostering division and unrest within the community.

“Legal action, following due process, will be taken against all offenders, and anyone sharing or forwarding such derogatory content against any sect will face strict action under the full force of the law”, the post reads.

DC Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Reviews Bank Performance and Government Schemes at DLRC/DCC Meeting

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, chaired a meeting of the District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) at the DC Office Complex to review the performance of banks and financial institutions under various government initiatives and schemes for the quarter ending September 2024.

Dr. Bhat urged banks and sponsoring agencies to prioritize achieving targets under Priority Sector Lending and improve access to banking facilities for unemployed youth. He emphasized the importance of coordination between banks and sponsoring agencies for better implementation of self-employment schemes.

The meeting covered a review of the Prime Ministers Mudra Yojna (PMMY), Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Pradhan Mantri SVANIDHI schemes, and other social security and government schemes. The DC also stressed the need for financial literacy and the Digital Payment Ecosystem.

Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday re-designated Dr. Abid Rasheed Shah as Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department.The move comes two days after Sarmad Hafeez and Mohammad Aijaz were re-designated key roles in the J&K Administration.

According to an order issued by General Administration Department,  “Consequent upon promotion of Dr. Abid Rashid Shah, IAS (AGMUT:2012) to the Selection Grade (Level-13 in the Pay Matrix), vide Order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under endorsement No. 14016/24/2024.UTS-1 dated 01.01.2025, the officer is hereby designated as Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department w.e.f. 01.01.2025 l.e. date from which he assumed the charge of the post.

Anti Corruption Bureau J&K Registers Preliminary Enquiries on Misappropriation in Srinagar Smart City Project

Anti Corruption Bureau J&K on Tuesday said to have registered Preliminary Enquiries related to misappropriation of Devri Stones etc & use of substandard material in Srinagar Smart City Project, Ltd.

ACB Spokesperson said that it has registered a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) N0.01/2025 in Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau Srinagar following reliable inputs indicating the misappropriation of materials, including Devari Stones, Path Tiles, Iron Grills etc in Srinagar City.

The material is suspected to have been either unaccounted for or allegedly sold in the open market for personal gains, during the revamp and beautification under the Srinagar Smart City Ltd. project rather than being retained in the stores of the concerned Engineering Division.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) also registered 2nd Preliminary Enquiry (PE) N0.02/2025 in Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau Srinagar with regard to use of substandard material in ongoing development work at Foreshore Road Nishat in Srinagar City for Cycle Track, Footpath facing Dal Lake & viewing decks etc from Nishat upto Naseem Bagh PHC (Public Health Centre). The officers/officials of Srinagar Smart City Ltd. in connivance with beneficiary contractor also deliberately avoided the mandatory procedures thereby compromising the quality of works.Probe of both Preliminary Enquiries is in progress.

In Kargil Road Accident Five Dead and Two Critically injured at Shilikchey Area of Kargil Ladakh

Five persons lost their lives, and two others sustained critical injuries in a tragic accident involving a Scorpio and a tipper at Shilikchey area of Kargil district on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the Scorpio (bearing registration number UP79A/1150) and the tipper (JK02AD/5118) collided head-on, causing both vehicles to plunge into a deep gorge.

Police Station Kargil swiftly responded to the incident, initiating a rescue operation. All the victims were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared five individuals dead. The other two victims remain in critical condition.

Sources revealed that three of the deceased were locals, while the remaining two were non-locals.The Kargil Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Kupwara Police Conducts Specialized NDPS Training Module for Investigation Officers

In an effort to enhance the investigation capabilities of police personnel, Police organized a specialized Training Module on NDPS Cases at the Conference Hall of District Police Office (DPO), Kupwara.

The training was attended by 20 Investigation Officers from various Police Stations and Police Posts across the district. The primary focus of the module was to familiarize the officers with the practices and procedures essential for the effective investigation of NDPS cases, ensuring adherence to legal protocols and achieving higher conviction rates.

The session was conducted by Senior Prosecuting Officer (SrPO) District Police Hqrs, Mr. Masroor Ahmad, who provided detailed insights into the critical aspects of NDPS case investigations, including evidence collection, documentation, and presentation in courts.
