J&K Bank Recruitment 2026: 1,356 PO and Banking Associate Vacancies Announced

Jammu and Kashmir Bank has announced 1,356 vacancies for Probationary Officers (POs) and Banking Associates, offering a major employment opportunity for educated youth across Jammu and Kashmir. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to the recruitment notifications issued by the Bank, the vacancies include 323 Probationary Officer posts and 1,033 Banking Associate positions. The online application process will begin on November 7, 2026, and remain open until November 26, 2026.
The recruitment examinations will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
J&K Bank Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details
The Bank has announced vacancies under two categories:
- Probationary Officers (POs): 323 posts
- Banking Associates: 1,033 posts
- Total Vacancies: 1,356 posts
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Only candidates domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir are eligible to apply for the advertised positions. Applicants must possess a valid domicile certificate and a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
The prescribed age limit is 20 to 30 years as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved-category candidates in accordance with the applicable rules.
Special Benefits for J&K Bank Apprentices
The Bank has announced additional benefits for candidates who have successfully completed apprenticeship training with J&K Bank.
Eligible apprentices applying for Banking Associate positions will receive an additional one-year age relaxation. They will also be awarded bonus marks equivalent to 2.5 per cent of the maximum marks in the online examination.
Five-Year Zone Posting Condition
An important condition in the recruitment notification requires selected candidates to serve for a minimum of five years in their initially allotted zones.
During this period, candidates will not be permitted to seek transfers outside their allotted zones.
Selection Process for PO and Banking Associate Posts
The selection process will differ for the two categories.
Probationary Officers (POs):
The selection process will consist of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Interview
Candidates up to ten times the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination. Similarly, candidates up to three times the vacancies will be called for the interview stage.
Banking Associates:
The selection of Banking Associates will be based on an online examination conducted by IBPS.
Reservation Policy
Reservation benefits will be provided in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules, 2005, as amended from time to time, including provisions notified under S.O. 176 dated March 15, 2024.
Eligible candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), residents of backward areas and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be entitled to reservation benefits as per applicable rules.
Horizontal reservation has also been provided for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), while provisions for ex-servicemen have been included in the Banking Associate recruitment.
