Dr Sanah Javid Supports RDA GMC Jammu
AIMSA leader Dr Sanah Javid expressed solidarity with the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, backing its long-standing demand for a fair revision of stipends.
She said resident doctors play a vital role in the healthcare system and deserve fair remuneration and recognition for their long working hours, emergency duties and continuous service to patients.
Dr Sanah urged the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Health Minister and concerned departments to take the issue seriously and ensure a fair, transparent and time-bound decision.
She also appreciated the RDA GMC Jammu’s approach of seeking a peaceful resolution through dialogue. She expressed hope that the Government would respond positively without disrupting essential healthcare services.
“Fair remuneration for resident doctors is not a privilege; it is a matter of equity, dignity, and justice,” she stated.
AIMSA Condemns Show-Cause Notices to PG Residents
Meanwhile, AIMSA President Dr Mohammad Momin Khan strongly condemned the reported issuance of show-cause notices to three postgraduate residents at Government Medical College Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir.
The doctors named in the statement are Dr Rounak, a local resident, Dr Abhijeet and Dr Sanjeev, both described as non-local residents.
AIMSA reiterated its support for RDA GMC Jammu and urged the Government to address resident doctors’ concerns before the November 12 deadline.
Dr Danish Hamid, an AIMSA postgraduate dental resident, also expressed support for the Resident Doctors Association.
AIMSA said it stood firmly with RDA GMC Jammu in its demand for fair and equal treatment for resident doctors across Jammu and Kashmir.
