Two Unidentified Militants Killed in Sopore Encounter, Kashmir
Authorities reported the demise of two unidentified terrorists in an overnight encounter in Sopore, Kashmir. According to a senior police official, the operation took place at Check Mohalla Nowpora in Sopore, resulting in the elimination of the terrorists whose identities are yet to be confirmed. The bodies remain on the ground as the operation continues. Additionally, two soldiers and a civilian sustained bullet injuries during the operation but are reported to be in stable condition after receiving prompt medical attention.
Earlier, a joint team comprising Army’s 22 RR, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Nowpora village following credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. Upon approaching the suspected location, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, leading to the commencement of the encounter.
As the operation progresses, security forces have sealed off roads leading to the encounter site.
