Security forces on Sunday neutralised 3 terrorists during a joint counter-terrorism operation codenamed Operation Trashi-I in the Kishtwar district of Jammu division.
The Defence spokesperson said, The operation was launched following credible intelligence inputs collated from Jammu and Kashmir Police, Intelligence Bureau and other intelligence agencies regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said troops of CIF (Delta) of the White Knight Corps, in close coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force, established contact with the terrorists in difficult and forested terrain of Kishtwar.
After the initial contact, troops re-engaged the terrorists at around 11:00 am on Sunday. During the encounter, two terrorists were neutralised. A search of the encounter site led to the recovery of war-like stores, including two AK-47 rifles.
In a continued operation under Operation Trashi-I, security forces later neutralised the third terrorist. Defence Officials said the remains and weapon of the slain terrorist have also been recovered from the area.
The Indian Army, in a post on X, said the operation showcased seamless coordination, tactical precision and resolute action by the joint forces.
Meanwhile, search operations are continuing in the area to ensure that no other terrorists are present, officials added.
