A woman was found dead on Friday in the Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, almost two months after she went missing from her home.
A police official identified the deceased as Atiqa Begum, a resident of Kreeri. She had been missing since 5 November 2025. Her family had filed a missing report at Police Station Kreeri on the same day.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The official said the body was first seen by local residents early in the morning. They informed the police immediately after noticing it.
“A police team reached the spot at once and took the body into custody,” the official said.
He added that the body was shifted to the nearest government hospital for medical and legal formalities. A post-mortem examination is currently being carried out to determine the cause of death.
Police said an investigation has been started from all possible angles, and further details are awaited.
