Residents of Srinagar will face a 24-hour water supply disruption starting Monday morning due to urgent repair work.The Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) announced that the shutdown is necessary to carry out repairs on the Sindh Power Canal.
Supply Timing and Reason
According to officials, the raw water supply to treatment plants at Alusteng and Rangil will be affected as repair work is carried out by the Canal Mechanic Division in Ganderbal.
- Start: 6:00 AM, Monday (April 6)
- End: 6:00 AM, Tuesday (April 7)
During this period, drinking water supply will remain suspended in many parts of the city.
Areas Affected
Several major areas across Srinagar and nearby localities will face disruption, including:
Zakoora, Gulab Bagh, Alusteng, Khalmulla, Habak, Naseem Bagh, Buchpora, Soura, Anchar, Zoonimar, Nowhatta, Lal Bazar, Hazratbal, Nigeen, Rainawari, Khanyar, Nawab Bazar, Batmaloo, Qamarwari and many adjoining areas.
Authorities have warned that both residential and commercial areas will be affected.

- Store enough water in advance
- Use water carefully during the shutdown
- Avoid unnecessary wastage
