Quoting the letter addressed by Er Rashid to the DG Prisons, New Delhi, Inam Un Nabi said, “Er Rashid Sb has expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of precious human lives in the Delhi blast of 10 November 2025. He has condemned the attack unequivocally and described it as an assault on humanity.”
Inam Un Nabi further quoted from the letter: “Er Rashid has raised serious concern over media reports that even educated Kashmiris, including doctors, are being pushed towards the path of violence. Through his hunger strike, he wants to remind Kashmiris that we cannot afford to lose more young and educated people.”
Inam Un Nabi said that Er Rashid sb, despite being incarcerated, continues to uphold the moral duty of representing the sentiments and aspirations of the people. “He has made it clear on behalf of his electorate that violence has no place in a civilized society. His appeal is to all stakeholders to give genuine peace a fair chance,” Inam said.
Referring to the Gandhian message quoted in the letter, Inam Un Nabi added, “He recalled Gandhi’s words, ‘If I am to make a choice between supporting violence or being called a coward, I would like to be called a coward.’ This shows the depth of his commitment to peace.”
AIP said the hunger strike is a moral protest and a call to introspection for all especially for Kashmiri youth, urging them to understand the disastrous consequences of violence and return to the path of peace.
