Two Brothers Drown in Jhelum River at Bijbehara While Washing Sheep, Bodies Recovered

A tragic incident took place in south Kashmir on Monday afternoon, where two young brothers drowned in the Jhelum River in the Padshahibagh area of Bijbehara.

Rescue Operation Launched

Soon after the incident, rescue teams from the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot and started a search operation.

After efforts by the teams, the bodies of both brothers were later recovered from the river.


Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as residents of Jablipora village in Anantnag district. Their sudden death has left the local community in deep shock and grief.


Investigation Underway

Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident to understand the exact circumstances.
